50+1 Strategies

Bittersweet news: we have made the decision to end the regular operations of 50+1 Strategies, effective at the end of the month.

We will miss the exhilaration that comes with building a successful business and winning campaigns rooted in our core, progressive values. But we are equally as excited about the next chapter of our own lives and careers, and to see what our staff, alumni, and clients will continue to do to carry on the work of changing our communities and our world.

As a firm, we are profitable, our client base and reputation is strong, and our team is as cohesive and talented as ever. Despite being in a position to grow and thrive, we both have other personal and professional interests we want to pursue. Simply put, we crave the spaciousness to dream, explore and grow.

50+1 will still exist as a business entity and will still take on new projects, but in a different form.

It’s time for a new chapter. Stay tuned for news about what’s next.

"This is more than a convention, this is like a movement," said Dr. Shirley Weber for Secretary of State. "It’s like Obama’s movement, when he said 'yes, we can.' People said 'yes, we can!' They woke up and realized they could."

The campaign said it raised $82 million the week of the convention, and $540 million in the month since they started running.

The loss of Peggy Moore and Hope Wood is an immense tragedy. We at 50+1 Strategies extend our deepest love and support to their family, friends, colleagues, and their team at Hope Action Change Consulting during this profoundly difficult time.

Peggy and Hope were not just influential figures in the organizing and advocacy space, they were true pillars of their communities, dedicating their lives to making a difference.

Many of our team members, including our founders, had the honor of working directly with Peggy Moore on the Obama Campaign, Organizing for America, Buffy Wicks for Assembly, Hillary for America, and more. We were privileged to call them our friends and are heartbroken by this loss. Their absence will be deeply felt.
