A speaker can have a story that gives people goosebumps and still have a hard time getting booked.

The instinct is usually to keep rewriting it. Make the opening sharper. Make the ending hit harder. Find a more dramatic way to tell it.

But sometimes the story is already doing its job.

What’s missing is the part that helps an organizer understand why you’re the right person for this audience, in this moment. That connection can feel obvious when it’s your own story, but it isn’t always obvious to the person building the agenda.
