Wrapping up testing and shipping the last order of 2025. This is a lower-end 4-light variant of our standard 12-light rig. This one can't do a single view scan but is more portable and well suited for props though requires significantly more camera positions for quality results.

The final (almost final) shaping pass of Polyacetal machining. Machines real nice. I am very surprised. Need to machine a little rig to cut off the remainder on the other side.

Polyacetal (POM) gear CNC machining in progress. I think I dialed all the parameters down this time. Now just let the machine do the work. The final end mill is only 0.4 mm in diameter.

2K Games the Minotaur Rig prototype complete and calibrated. This is our most minimalistic and optimized PBR face scanning rig configuration so far. Running 20 Sony A9 III cameras at 60 fps and 16 composite light clusters using IDA Tronic lights.

The guys are still going to put nice laser cut frame and covers around it. This also went through joint hardware/software optimization process in here nearly every shot make a difference and used for reconstruction.

Sometimes it takes a lot of trial and error to get something right. This was me getting the right gear prototype 3D printed. 24 tries on the left just to get printer settings right. Another 8 to get the slicer do the right things. So 32 tries just to get a single gear.

Simplifying rig calibration in upcoming 1.4.2 Photometry Toolkit release with automatic highlight matching. Once the mirror ball aligned, the entire sequence is automatically mapped into the rig's 3D space with proper light positioning.

Scanning with a 180 degree 24 light Arc - 5 cameras, 24 positions, 2 poses, 2 polarizations, 11520 shots 200 GB JPEGs total. Under 3 minute capture time for 5x Sony a1 50MP @ 20fps or 2 min with 5x Ximea CB654CG-GP-X8G3 65MP @ 30 fps.

A 24 light arc for photometric scanning. 48 shots per 5 cameras. Calibration process requires setting up and aligning all the filters and polarization states along with overall optical collimation and framing.
