New earthquake numbers just dropped - let’s get ready together.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported on updated USGS calculations this week: a 74.1% chance of a magnitude 6.7+ earthquake in the Bay Area over 30 years starting in 2026.

The probability has risen because time has passed without a major rupture, allowing more tectonic stress to build up. These are long-term odds. They don’t predict when a quake will happen.

Take one step today: secure heavy furniture, make a plan, gather supplies, get connected, or get trained. Swipe for ReadySF tips, including what to do when shaking starts (hint: drop, cover, and hold on).

Save this and share it with your people, because preparedness is a partnership.
