October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜

This month, we’re highlighting the work of Against Domestic Violence (BWRADV), a San Francisco-based organization working to make sure survivors have access to support that understands their experiences, their communities, and the barriers they may face.

BWRADV centers Black women and their families while providing resources including survivor support, education and training, support groups, legal services, and youth prevention programming.

We’re proud to highlight an organization doing the hard, necessary work of supporting survivors while building healthier relationships and communities.

October is National Arts & Humanities Month 🎨📚🎭

We spend a lot of time talking about what makes communities stronger, and arts and culture absolutely belong in that conversation.

Artists, writers, musicians, cultural workers, museums, community arts organizations, and the people keeping our stories alive do more than make our communities interesting. They create spaces for connection, preserve history, challenge us to think differently, and give us plenty of reasons to actually leave the house.

And if you're in San Francisco, October is a pretty great month to celebrate. Check out SF Open Studios, Litquake, a free day at MoAD, or one of the many performances, exhibitions, readings, and community events happening around the city.
