The last month has been a blur! Working at Design Within Reach has opened up a whole new world! Yes, I know.... the running joke is that it's "design that's NOT within reach" (financially speaking), but there's a reason things are not in the IKEA price range. And that's because these pieces are timeless. Not only are the designs spectacular, but the quality of craftsmanship is amazing! These are modern heirloom pieces, really! Just thought I would share a few things I am coveting right now!

FB Friends,

I'm about to start a new chapter in my life which encompasses all of my design and sales skills. Starting on Monday, September 8th, I will be the newest Sales Executive at the 16,000 square foot Design Within Reach studio in San Francisco. As many of you know, I am a huge fan of mid-century modern design, and DWR sells so many iconic pieces from mid-century designers, as well as pieces that will most likely become as iconic as those designed by Eames and Saarinen!

I will continue to operate Olive Juice Designs and offer design services, but on a smaller scale. I certainly can't imagine not being involved in an overall room design if asked!

Just dropped off this mid-century chair at my upholsterer for a living room project I'm working on. Great bones and lines on this piece. I'm not going to give any hints on what the fabric looks like, but I promise you this... it will be a huge transformation from it's current state!
