Solar Sustainability Highlight I Jack’s Solar Garden

Community Solar & Local Energy Access | Powering Communities Together

Jack’s Solar Garden, a ~1.2 MW community solar project located in Longmont, Colorado, combines agrivoltaics with community solar participation, creating a model that supports both renewable energy generation and local community engagement. The project enables residents to directly benefit from locally generated solar electricity while advancing innovative dual-use land applications.

Powered by Boviet Solar PV modules and installed by Namasté Solar, the project was developed in collaboration with local stakeholders and research partners to support clean energy accessibility and sustainable community development. Through the community solar subscription model, local residents receive utility bill credits generated from the project’s renewable electricity production.
Community solar projects deliver significant economic and social value by expanding access to renewable energy for renters, low-to-moderate income households, and underserved communities that may not have direct rooftop solar access. In addition to reducing electricity costs, distributed generation projects such as Jack’s Solar Garden help strengthen local energy resilience, support grid decentralization, and promote broader participation in the clean energy transition.

By combining community solar participation with agrivoltaic innovation, the project also demonstrates how solar development can support responsible land use, local engagement, and long-term sustainability goals while contributing to regional clean energy generation.
At Boviet Solar, we are proud to support community solar initiatives with reliable, high-performance PV modules engineered for long-term durability, consistent energy production, and dependable project performance across diverse solar applications.
