I'm president of the Oak Grove School District board, so I say this with love: local races — school boards, city councils, special districts — are routinely decided by a few hundred votes. A handful of neighbors staying home can flip a seat.

Don't let your ballot sit on the counter. Your county elections office has the full drop box list — look up the one nearest you.

Starting today, every active registered voter in Santa Clara County gets a vote-by-mail ballot for November 3.

I work local races for a living, so take it from me: the bottom of your ballot decides your water rates, your kids' classrooms, and what gets built in your neighborhood — with a fraction of the attention the top gets.

🗳️ School board races to watch in Santa Clara County:

Moms for Liberty's local chapter has endorsed candidates in the November 3 school board races — Frances Renteria (Fremont Union), Nicole Gribstad (San Jose Unified), Matt Karnes (Alum Rock), and Joshua Harrington and Josue Gonzalez (Franklin-McKinley).

In Franklin-McKinley, educators are already out canvassing for incumbents George Sanchez and Milan Balinton.
