Haven’t posted in a while and i missed this cool project. Another cool project for Temple Emmanuel in San Jose. New lectern with a half glass top to have easy access to view the iPads that are stored inside to help adjust their sound and lights and also used by their cantor for their songs of praise. Not a bad design we worked closely with them to give them what they wanted and how they wanted it. I’m the end like always we left a happy mark on the world and got to build another fine piece for some very fine people. It’s all made out of red oak with some maple accents. 3 soft close pull out iPad drawers and 1 big media storage drawer underneath.

New stairs!! This build was a bit tough due to the fact we couldn’t disturb the plaster walls that everything was attached to. When we did the demo we found that this was not put together the traditional way with stringers but rather make shift stringers route red on the side rail on the wall, which made our cuts and installing these treads very difficult because we couldn’t take anything off. So putting them in took some carful planning and precise cutting. This was a challenge for sure but like always, they don’t call us Masterworks for nothing. Client was very happy and we leave our happy mark on the world yet again. Call us for any of your woodworking needs, and i do mean ANY! We got you!

Today is a sad day, i was just notified that one of our most cherished clients passed. The Sanfillippo’s have been always very close to our hearts as they were the first clients that gave us a big job when we first started this company. We have shared many laughs and many joyous occasions with them throughout the build of their home and over the years. We have seen their kids grow from pre-teens to teens to now full adults with great careers and bright futures. Loren Mahon, was one of the sweetest women i have ever met. Always honest with her critiques of our work and always supportive with the ideas we gave her for her home. I feel very honored to have met Loren and her family and i truly feel a heavy heart over this loss.
She was an amazing mom, wife and client, integrity ran deep with her and it shows with the family she left behind. Today please let us all take a moment and in her honor, let someone know you love them and appreciate them. I made her a custom Live, Laugh, learn sign for her home hand carved and she lived by that motto every day of her life. I am sorry to see you go but your legacy will forever live on through your family and the many people you touched with your generosity and love.
To the Sanfillippo family, our hearts are with you and we will forever be great full for the opportunity to make our dreams come true through the opportunity to work for you. We will always be here for you and you will always be part of the Masterworks family!

Another beautiful door installed. This one is made from solid Red Oak with mortise and tenon joinery, tempered glass and custom finish. The door texture is hand made with scrub plane and also scrub brush for that rough but smooth feel finish.

Had to do some crawling in a very tight space to secure these in place but like always we got it done and now the temple has a new set of stair railing! Next the carpet and seats come in and right now I’m in the middle of designing 2 new menorahs that will go in the back to match the stair railing. Railing is all half lap joinery so it’s super sturdy and made from white oak hardwood.

Gluing up one half of the arch top doors we are making right now. After it’s done then we take it out to the site make sure it fits because the opening is old and not square at all, then bring it back to the shop for final sanding, installing the wood panels and glass panels and then stain and finish. Should be ready to install next week.
