What does an innovation partnership really look like in patient access?

For Kenn Judd, VP of Patient Access, East Coast at RadNet, the answer has evolved over time.

In the next Office Hours, Kenn joins me to talk about how RadNet’s approach to prior authorization changed as the organization grew, how he thinks about the role of his internal team, and what it takes for an operational relationship to become something much more integrated.

We’ll get into how the work used to be structured, what changed along the way, and why the right partnership can become part of the operating model itself.

The revenue cycle leader evaluating an AI solution may also be the person responsible for implementing it.

Colene Hickman, Revenue Cycle Director at Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center, puts that capacity challenge plainly: “I’m over a lot. I’m also the resource for implementation.”

Her team already uses an AI phone agent and Epic’s denial tools. Those tools help assess whether a payer has paid for a service before and how often similar denials are overturned, giving staff better information to decide which accounts deserve their time.
Getting each solution working well takes time and resources that a nonprofit hospital has to stretch.

For leaders planning their next AI investment, implementation capacity belongs in the business case. Who will own the rollout, support the team through workflow changes, and measure whether the technology is improving collections and freeing staff for work that requires their judgment?

At Infinx, we bring together AI, operational support, and revenue cycle expertise to help providers turn those investments into better financial outcomes.

Someone checks the shared folder. Someone opens and renames the document. The information is entered into the EHR and routed to the next queue.

The work gets done, so the workaround becomes accepted as part of the workflow.

Its cost appears later, when the patient is still waiting and the teams responsible for financial clearance or prior authorization have less time to complete their work.

A referral can be present without being ready to move.

The front office has changed. Has your strategy?

Patient access is no longer just a collection of separate tasks. Eligibility, authorization, scheduling, financial clearance, and other workflows increasingly need to work together if organizations want to reduce rework and protect financial performance.

Join Lindsey Nelson, Product Marketing Manager at Infinx, for the next Office Hours as we explore how the Patient Access Services model is evolving and why a more connected front office matters.

We're live at the SoftWriters FrameworkLTC Innovation Conference!

If you're walking the exhibit hall today, stop by Tabletop 5 and meet Derek Taylor, PharmD, AVP Client Services, and Arnold Pena, Director of Client Services, from Infinx.

We're demonstrating how LTC pharmacies are using AI agents to:
→ Complete prior auth workflows in hours instead of waiting days
→ Auto-classify and route incoming faxes and referrals
→ Verify coverage and benefits before prescriptions stall
→ Accelerate reimbursement cycles without adding headcount

We're showing real AI delivering measurable outcomes, built to integrate with FrameworkLTC systems.

Already booked? We've got coffee and real talk about what's working in LTC pharmacy operations.

Still need to schedule? There's time: https://na2.hubs.ly/H08jKth0

Your revenue cycle is only as strong as its handoffs.

One vendor misses an auth. Another posts a payment late. The claim that funded a procedure sits unworked while everyone points at the step before theirs.

That's where revenue cycles break: in the gaps between steps. Infinx can own patient access through payment posting as one continuous workflow; no handoffs, no finger-pointing, and no steps that become "somebody else's problem."

When everything runs as one system, accountability becomes real.

If you could fix one thing about patient access, what would it be?

We asked Navaneeth Nair, Chief Product Officer at Infinx, at the Becker's Health IT + RCM Conference in Chicago.

His answer:
"The one thing to fix about patient access would be improving what I call order to schedule; the ability to get a patient order or referral and have them being seen as quickly as possible because it's a patient in need."

What's getting in the way? Orders still arriving by fax. Incomplete information. Financial clearance that hasn't been done.
The result: Patients in need wait longer than they should.

How many vendors touch a single claim before it gets paid?

Eligibility with one team, coding with another, billing somewhere else, denials with a fourth.

Every boundary between vendors is a place where claims stall; and nobody answers for it.

That's the hidden cost of fragmentation: accountability gaps that let revenue slip through.

Infinx can run patient access, coding, billing, and A/R as one accountable system. One workflow. One team behind the result.

Because when the cycle breaks, you need someone who owns fixing it.

January can create a reverification crunch long before the first patient arrives.

Imaging organizations may already have patients scheduled weeks or months into the new benefit year, while coverage changes, deductible resets, and new authorization requirements all begin to surface at once.

Join Elizabeth “Beth” Darce, Director of Insurance Verification and Authorization, for our next Office Hours as she shares what that workload looks like in practice, how her team has historically managed it, and why they are taking a different approach this year.
