We are thrilled to announce that UEGroup has been nominated for the UX Design Awards 2026 for our Osmi concept!
Osmi is a chemistry-inspired game that helps children affected by the pandemic rebuild their social skills and ability to focus over the long term in a world of fast-paced, solitary content. Through card and mobile gameplay, children collect elements, combine them to create molecule-based heroes, and engage in battles based on real chemical reactions. As they play with endearing characters, kids naturally learn patterns and scientific principles. Osmi makes STEM social and approachable, helping kids grow to be confident, creative, and connected.

What if the finish line of product development wasn’t defined as the materialization of the product itself, but instead when the user’s needs become fulfilled?

On September 15th, Danny Gelfman is sharing a unique approach to the early stages of medical device R&D that allows for the appropriate prototypes to be generated faster and with less cost. The PACED Method helps cross-functional teams capture a wide set of ideas and quickly sort through them to create a manageable set of prototypes for end-user evaluation.

As part of Danny's talk “PACED: A Structured Framework for Ideation and Prototyping To Explore Options With End Users” you will learn:
💡The 5 sequential criteria that make up the PACED Method
💡How to explore the opportunity space through conceptual scenarios
💡A new decision-making process for deciding what to prototype
💡How to help users articulate their needs through the comparison of options

Danny is a Distinguished Designer & Innovation Lab Studio Lead at Medtronic with 20 years of experience working in product development with a focus on human-centered design. He works across Medtronic using HCD as a front-end tool to explore user needs and creative solutioning. Danny is an inventor on over 20 patents in several different products across medical devices, has won multiple awards in the industry, and became the first designer at Medtronic to achieve the title of Distinguished Designer at the end of 2020.

Meet the final speaker for Experience Innovation Center's Inclusion and Accessibility in UX event, Dalila Szostak!

When Dali Szostak, Head of UX for Google Trust and Safety, began research on how to keep people on the internet safe, she realized that not everyone is equally affected by digital threats. This led her to begin focusing on the experiences of those who may face at-risk situations because of who they are, what they do, where they live, and what they share on the internet.

Join Dali on October 26th as she speaks on “Inclusive and Safe! by Design” and leading Google UX designers and researchers in creating more inclusive and accessible products.

The next speaker duo comes from Purdue University, Dr. Brad Duerstock and Dr. Brandon Pitts, Ph.D.! We wanted to know what kickstarted their focus in the inclusion and accessibility space.

Dr. Brad Duerstock: Ever since Dr. Duerstock was awarded grants from the National Science Foundation to create an accessible research-level microscope, he has continued researching and designing to meet the needs of people with disabilities.

Dr. Brandon Pitts: When Dr. Pitts noticed his parents sometimes struggling to use technology, he realized products are often being designed without considering the older population. In response, Dr. Pitt’s research focuses on technology design for older adults.

Dr. Duerstock and Dr. Pitts combined their knowledge and passion to design the EASI RIDER, a solution geared towards how people with disabilities and the aging population can utilize autonomous vehicles. On October 26th, come and hear the details of this project and how the team is developing a life-sized, operational model of the EASI RIDER in their presentation entitled “Inclusive Design for Tomorrow's Autonomous Vehicle: the EASI RIDER Project”.

Meet the next speaker for XCenter's inclusive design event: Dr. Rua Williams!

Dr. Williams is a Purdue professor and social justice advocate who researches interactions between disability justice and technology design. “Many people approach accessibility from a compliance and rights-based perspective and this lens fails to support just practices that work against systemic and institutional structures that disadvantage minoritized people.” – Dr. Williams

In their talk, “Challenging Objectification in UXD”, Dr. Williams will outline design principles centered on social justice and collective transformation and how UX professionals are still missing the mark, even when they’re following these principles.

XCenter announced the next speaker for Inclusion and Accessibility: UX Put into Practice, Dr. Natalia Rodriguez Jockovich!

“Health technologies like diagnostic tests or vaccines, even if they work perfectly, will achieve nothing if people don’t understand or are unwilling to use them.” - Dr. Rodriguez

Dr. Rodriguez has always been passionate about designing technologies to improve health. When she began implementing these technologies in marginalized populations, she learned how important it is to include these communities in the design process of their own solutions.

Tune into Dr. Rodriguez’s talk, “Achieving Health Equity through Human-Centered Technology and Workforce Innovation”, where she will speak about the work her lab, the Health Techquity Lab, is doing to bring the community-engaged design process to multiple health technologies.
