GRANT OPPORTUNITY (FILM): SFFILM is inviting applications for its Rainin Grant, which is the largest granting body for independent narrative feature films in the United States. Grants will support films that address social justice issues — the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges — in a positive and meaningful way through plot, character, theme, or setting that benefits the Bay Area filmmaking community in a professional and economic capacity.

The program is open to filmmakers in the US and internationally who can commit to spending time developing the film in San Francisco.

Current SFFILM Rainin Grants are as follows: 1) Screenwriting Grant; 2) Development Grant;, and 3) Post-Production Grant. For more details, check out the link below.

GRANT OPPORTUNITY (HUMANITIES): California Humanities grants support a diverse range of projects that share stories, explore history and culture, and enlarge understanding of the human experience.

Humanities for All Quick Grants provide between $1K-$5K to small-scale public humanities programs and projects which take place within one year from the award date. Projects should be grounded in the humanities, show potential to provide high-quality humanities learning experiences for participants and audiences, and demonstrate the capacity for successful implementation. Appropriate formats include virtual and in-person community dialogues, reading and film discussion groups, oral history workshops, non-fiction workshops, speaker series, and many more activities based in humanities disciplines. Any California-based nonprofit organization or non-federal public agency is eligible to apply. A cash or in-kind match of the award is NOT required for these grants.

GRANT OPPORTUNITY (HUMANITIES): California Humanities grants support a diverse range of projects that share stories, explore history and culture, and enlarge understanding of the human experience.

Humanities for All Project Grants provide between $10K- $25K in funds for large-scale public humanities projects of up to two years duration. Appropriate programming formats include but are not limited to virtual and in-person interpretive exhibits, community dialogue and discussion series, workshops and participatory activities, presentations and lectures, conversations and forums, and interactive and experiential activities. Eligibility is limited to California-based nonprofit organizations and non-federal public agencies, and grant awards must be matched with an equivalent amount of cash or in-kind resources throughout the duration of the project.

GRANT OPPORTUNITY (ARTS): The Berkeley Arts Recovery Grants (BARG) for Organizations & Festivals has been extended to December 23, 2021 by 11:59 PM.

These are one-time grants available to Berkeley-based nonprofit and fiscally sponsored arts organizations and festivals to help Berkeley’s arts community sustainably recover from the negative economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Funding may be used to mitigate an arts organization’s economic loss, implement COVID-19 prevention tactics, and procure consulting and marketing services to bolster the organization financially for future sustainability.

Grant awards will range from $3,000 to $33,000.

GRANT OPPORTUNITY: Due to the holidays, the application deadline for the California Venues Grant has been EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 7, 2021. DON'T DELAY and APPLY TODAY!

NOT JUST FOR VENUES - Promoters, producers, organizers, managers and hosts of live performances and sporting events are also eligible for the CA Venues Grant, even if you do not own a venue.

The grant supports independent producers & promoters of performing arts, entertainment and sports events, as well as live event venues that have been affected by COVID-19 with their continued operations. It has also recently been confirmed that university and college venues may apply, too. Californians For The Arts encourages all eligible organizations to apply!

GRANT OPPORTUNITY (ARTS): The Creative Forces Community Engagement Grant is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) in partnership with Mid-America Arts Alliance (M-AAA). This grant program aims to improve the health, well-being, and quality of life for military service members and veterans exposed to trauma as well as their families and caregivers through experiences of art or art making.

MAAA will award approximately 35 matching grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 for arts-based community engagement projects that engage targeted military-connected communities. These Creative Forces Community Engagement Grants are intended to support non-clinical arts engagement programs taking place in healthcare, community, or virtual settings. The grants will be awarded in two tiers, emerging and advanced, which reflect the capacity of the project at the time of the application.
