The Cal Poly Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) helps students and community members acquire the tools, develop the skills and cultivate the mindset of an entrepreneur so that they may create economic and social value throughout the world. We are proud to share that two CIE startups brought home major wins at the 2026 Sunstone CSU Startup Launch Competition this week, and we could not be more excited for them. 🎉

🏆 Elora is creating drug detection sensors embedded in jewelry to help women test their drinks and stay safe. The team took home not only the Grand Prize, but also first place in the Hardware & Consumer Products Track, with a total award of $40k!

🩺 Everest Medical is developing a handheld device to assist in shoulder dystocia deliveries and protect both mother and baby. The team took home first place in the Health & Wellness Track, earning $20k!

Congratulations to our winners! We can't wait to see what's next for these outstanding startups. 🙌

Applications for the CIE Incubator program close THIS FRIDAY! ⏰

Ready to take your startup to the next level? The Incubator is now accepting applications for the Summer 2026 Cohort, and the deadline is just around the corner.

This two-year program helps early-stage startups grow faster with mentorship, expert advisors, investor connections and more. Open to all industries, participants also gain access to the CIE HotHouse, including workspace and a strong founder community.

📅 Summer Cohort begins June 1, 2026
⏳ Applications due Friday, May 15th at 11:59 p.m.
