I’ve had a very grumpy year or so, but I’ve still fallen in love with everyone I’ve been lucky to enough to gaze at from across the cards.❤️‍🔥

“Be aware of your own butterfly wings, and the future tornado you might unleash.“ 🦋🌪️

In the journey of the major arcana, the Lovers(VI) card asks us to choose between the comfort of the known, or following the heart, changing direction— moving toward an unknown. The Chariot(VII) follows: momentum behind our choice picks up and thrusts us toward a sure path— If a choice hasn’t been made, it’s easy to feel run over by the unstoppable force, rumbling forward.
Regardless of the rigor of the journey, Justice(VIII) will be our next stop. With a halt, a time ensues where balance is spotlighted. Justice is prudent, temperate, cool, and collected— none of which I relate to much at the moment. I have felt, heavily, the discomfort of the liminality of Justice in these past weeks. What is wrong and what is right are being highlighted and called into question in unprecedented and overwhelming waves. The assurance of the Justice card is that the sword of Themis will cut through the illusions and lies, and reality will bleed forward; she guarantees that action is possible from this state, even now. With authorities/structures, a mask will always slip and our understanding will be challenged, altered, or reinforced. We sit at a crux of systems falling in and out of place and time— we’re seeing through the machine, and things look rusty and busted. ⚙️🛠️
This is meant to be a time of reckoning, and not just as virtues replace rulers. My mama always says, “we judge ourselves by our intentions, and we judge others by their impact.” Themis’ scale reminds us of this careful balance; we must measure ourselves critically by the impact of our actions, and try our best to foresee how the consequences might affect those outside ourselves. Standing up for our individual truths will reinforce the trust we can all have in each other within our communities. Only together, and with clarity, can things be set right in the world, and chaos can begin to clear. We must do our best to balance Themis’ scales; through the careful repositioning and continual application of our Strength and Temperance. ⚖️🗡️🦁

I’m sure your feed is as flooded as mine, with news, videos, articles, stories, and advice on how to be present and productive in the fight against ICE. If it’s making you hopeless— if you’re freezing in the fight— this post is for you. If you’re doing everything you can, and still wish to find the capacity to do more, this post is for you. If you’re feeling scared, if you’re feeling brave, if you’re feeling confused, indignant, overwhelmed, if you’re angry, if you’re ready— this post is for you. 🛟
I believe that Tarot, as a practice, is an incredibly mobilizing force, but is not in and of itself mobilization.
In an effort to help myself and others to rally and show up more effectively, I’ve designed a couple Tarot prompts/spreads to help recenter, plan and move forward with purpose amid the harrowing events transpiring in the US.

This offering never expires, and extends to all political issues, struggles, and events, large or small. It’s easy to feel like we don’t know what the next right thing to do is; Tarot recenters me personally around my value system, and gives me guidance and tools to move forward pragmatically, and toward a perceived known outcome. If you’re looking to book a virtual or in-person reading, now’s a great time to schedule for the last few weeks of May or throughout June! 🌻
I’ll be off the first week of June for a trip to see family, then I’ll be taking some time to recover from a much-needed surgery. ❤️‍🩹
I’ll still be available for virtual sessions and some in-person appointments following my operation, and any bookings will be greatly appreciated during this downtime. 🩶 I’m working on making herbal blends more readily available in San Marcos, so keep your eye out for those updates. 👀 My tentative June calendar will be posted soon— keeping in mind that healing doesn’t always go perfectly to plan, and I haven’t quite cracked predicting the future yet. I’ll miss y’all while I’m on the mend, but come see me in the meantime!
