The Niagara County Center for Economic Development is thankful to see the former Candlelight Cabinetry facility in Lockport getting a new lease on life while ending uncertainly the workforce there had to deal with for months.

The newly formed Candlelight Curated Inc. plans to invest $11 million into modernizing the facility and restoring 100 skilled manufacturing jobs that were lost earlier this year.

We appreciate the efforts of everyone involved in helping move this project forward and look forward to seeing the facility operational again.

Manufacturing remains a critical part of Niagara County’s economy, and today’s announcement is another positive step toward continued investment and revitalization in our community.

The Niagara County Center for Economic Development is honored to receive the Niagara USA Chamber’s Collaboration Award for the Annual Agribusiness Outreach Forum, which was started over eight years ago with the assistance of our Directors Cathie Synor and Amy Schifferli.

This recognition reflects a true team effort and our shared commitment to supporting and advocating for Niagara County’s agricultural industry, which plays such an important role in our local economy.

We are grateful for the continued partnership and support of the Niagara USA Chamber, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County, the Small Business Development Center, and the Farm Bureau. Together, we have helped grow this forum into an outstanding event that supports, connects, and advocates for our local agricultural community.

This afternoon, members of our team joined Legislators Jesse Gooch, Chris McKimmie, and Jeff Elder for the grand opening celebration of Steelbound Niagara Falls on Third Street.

Steelbound’s unique approach of brewing their own beer and distilling their own spirits brings something special to downtown Niagara Falls. It’s exciting to see continued investment and new energy in the heart of the city, and we wish them nothing but success in this new location.
