Virginia has us turning on the AC one day and reaching for a blanket the next 😂🍂

Don’t let these 80° and 90° days fool you into thinking fall isn’t here! One minute you’re wearing shorts, and the next you’re saying, “We should’ve ordered firewood.” 🔥

A little heads-up as you make your plans: we’ll be closed on Halloween, October 31, so get your wood ahead of time for those Halloween bonfires! 🎃

And you don’t have to wait until you need it to get on our schedule. Our website lets you schedule your delivery in advance. Think Thanksgiving with the family, Christmas by the fireplace, and a New Year’s fire with friends. You can even plan ahead for February and March, in case Virginia decides to surprise us with snow. ❄️

We can’t predict what this weather will do, but having your firewood ready is one less thing to worry about. Stack it now, enjoy it later. 🪵🔥

Pick your wood, choose your delivery date, and let us handle the heavy lifting!

❤️🔥 SHARE THE WARMTH — NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS! 🔥❤️

Winter is coming, and we know that for some families, keeping their homes warm isn't as simple as turning up the thermostat.

At By the Roadside Premium Firewood, we believe no one in our community should have to face the cold alone.

That's why we've launched **Share the Warmth**, a community-supported firewood assistance program for Richmond-area households experiencing financial hardship.

🪵 **Do you or someone you know rely on firewood to heat your home but are struggling to afford it?**

We're now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 winter season!

❤️ Anyone experiencing financial hardship is welcome to apply.

📋 Proof of financial hardship or participation in an assistance program may be requested.

🔥 Assistance is based on household need, available program resources, and delivery availability. Applying does not guarantee assistance.

**Apply or nominate someone here:**

🤝 **LOCAL BUSINESSES:** We're also looking for community partners and sponsors to help make this possible. Visit the link above to learn more.

Even if you don't need assistance yourself, sharing this post could help us reach someone who does. ❤️

It’s not even 10 AM yet and somehow it already feels like we’ve lived an entire day. 😂🪵
While most people are just getting their Saturday started, we’ve been at it since early this morning.
Two cords split. 🔥
All three self-serve stands stocked. 🪵
Two deliveries already made. 🚚
And now it’s 10 AM.
The splitter has been running, the truck has been moving, the stands are full, and there’s still a whole Saturday ahead of us. 😂
It’s funny because when you see a stack of firewood sitting at one of our stands or dropped neatly in someone’s driveway, you don’t really see everything that happened before it got there.
The logs coming in.
The splitting.
The loading.
The early mornings.
The miles on the truck.
Then turning around and doing it all over again.
But mornings like this are the ones where you stop for a second, look around and think…
Dang. We got some stuff DONE today. 😂🔥
And somewhere around Richmond, two families already have their firewood, three stands are waiting on their weekend customers, and we’re headed right back to the wood yard.
Just another Saturday at By The Roadside. 🪵❤️
Now… back to work. 😂
