This is the same pool that supplies all Michigan consumers with electricity, and power generated by the project may be used both locally and transmitted to where it is needed based on demand.

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy recently released the MI Healthy Climate Plan, a roadmap for reducing carbon pollution, lowering costs for consumers, and creating thousands of clean energy jobs.
The plan calls for generating 60% of Michigan's electricity from clean and renewable sources by 2030 by expanding wind and solar power, investing in energy storage, and closing the last of Michigan’s coal-fired power plants by 2030.
