God is so amazing and you can’t keep His folks down too long. 🎉🙌🏾

I wanted to personally invite you to an event that I will be speaking at in just a couple weeks. EmpowerHER is having their annual Denim & Pearls Scholarship Luncheon and they’ve asked me, your girl, to be their keynote speaker. This event honors a local businesswoman and awards a scholarship to a deserving high school senior.

I attended last year and it was a pleasure to be in the room to fellowship with folks and celebrate a couple amazing people.

All the details are on the pic and I would love if you can be there to support me. After a winter in the house healing from surgery, I’d love to see and catch up with you.

Yesterday

I apologized and took accountability for a situation that wasn’t my own
I advocated and mediated without even a simple thank you
I realized that this had left me a little tired and empty
I had to delay things I needed to do for myself, not so much due to the loss of time but the emotional toll of it all

My first response was to be hard on myself and express negative self talk
But then I stopped
I stopped to reflect
I stopped to praise
I stopped to journal
And then I prayed
And then I felt better
And then I praised because I know better so I’ll do better going forward

When I slipped down my front porch, had surgery, and am now in the midst of a 12-week recovery,
I said God is positioning me for greater

Greater has been breakthrough after breakthrough
It is the breaking down of bad habits
It is the creation of new mindsets
It is the shedding of some things, the blooming of others, and the expectation of an Ephesians 3:20 blessing on my life
On my relationship with God
On my family and friends
On my physical, emotional, intellectual, and financial well-being
It is the sowing into what can only be described as an open window type of blessing

It is a refinement of the best of me
It is a redirection of my efforts to the things that are in alignment with what God has in store for me
It is the reconditioning of habits to grow and stretch me in a mighty way

While it may not always feel good, I know it will work out for my good
And I am thankful not for all things but in all things
At 7 weeks post surgery, I am excited and a little fearful of what’s yet to come, but I am praying, praising, and pressing on in Jesus name 🙏🏾💃🏾💕
