Most golfers think a big backswing means moving away from the ball. That’s exactly what’s costing you your strike.

The difference between a bogey golfer and a scratch golfer often comes down to one movement in the backswing - the lead shoulder.

✅ Bogey golfer: the lead shoulder rises up and away - this pulls the head off the ball and destroys your contact point before you’ve even started down.
✅ Scratch golfer: the lead shoulder works down toward the ball - this keeps the head steady and gives you a consistent, repeatable strike.

It’s a small shift in direction with a massive difference in outcome.

📩 Send this to your playing partner who always seems to lose their shape at the top of the backswing.

Comment GIMME and I’ll help you cut down on your 3 Putts 👇

PGA Tour players 3-putt just 0.5 times per round. If you’re trying to break 90, that number jumps to 3. Break 100 and you’re looking at over 5 three-putts every single round.

That’s not a swing problem. That’s a scoring problem hiding in plain sight.

✅ Understand your baseline - you can’t fix what you haven’t measured, so track your 3-putts for just two rounds.
✅ Focus on lag putting first - most 3-putts come from poor distance control, not missed short putts.
✅ Practice from outside 20 feet - that’s where the damage is being done, not on the practice green from 3 feet.

📩 Send this to your playing partner who always blames their irons when the real shots are disappearing on the greens.

Most chipping problems come down to one thing: an inconsistent low point. This two-ball drill makes it impossible to hide.

Place two balls in a row with a gap between them, then swing through and try to strike both.

✅ Remove the middle ball first
✅ Strike both balls cleanly
✅ Repeat with focus on the arc staying stable
Simple drill. Honest feedback. Better contact.

📩 Send this to your playing partner who chunks or thins their chips around the green.

Most golfers ruin the downswing in the first foot of the transition. The club goes over the top before the body has a chance to lead.

This drill fixes that by giving you a visual reference you can actually check mid-swing.

✅ Align the stick just inside your right foot - this creates the exact path the club needs to shallow onto
✅ Keep your back to the target as you pull down - turning too early is what throws the club over the top
✅ Let the clubhead trail your hands - if the head is level with your hands, you’ve already lost the lag

The exaggeration is the point. If your natural move is over the top, feeling like you’ve gone too far inside is usually just right.

📩 Send this to your playing partner who always complains about hitting it thin or pulling left.

Most golfers think spinning out is a hip problem. It’s actually a sequencing problem - and this bottle will prove it.

Set a water bottle just outside your back heel before you swing.

✅ Keep the bottle standing on the downswing - this stops your hips firing before your weight has shifted, which is what kills power and sends the ball left.
✅ Let your heel rise naturally through impact - this allows full rotation without the early spin that collapses your sequence.
✅ Do this with slow swings first - rushing it defeats the purpose, the feedback only works if you’re actually feeling the pressure shift.

📩 Send this to your playing partner who always complains about losing power through the ball.

Most golfers attack the ball from the outside without even realising it. This wall drill gives you instant feedback on whether your downswing is shallow or steep.

Here’s what it teaches you:

✅ Set the club against the wall at the top of your backswing - this locks in the correct position before you even start down
✅ Keep the club on the wall as you begin the downswing - any steep move pulls it away immediately, so there’s nowhere to hide
✅ Feel the shallow, inside path into the ball - this is what creates a pure strike rather than a pull or a slice

You don’t need a range for this. A wall and an old club is all it takes.

📩 Send this to your playing partner who keeps pulling it left and blaming their grip.

Most golfers think the finish is just where the swing ends. It’s actually where everything shows up.

A bogey golfer stays bent forward through the finish - spine pitched toward the ball, no extension, no height. A scratch golfer does the opposite: the spine angles away from the target, creating that tall, extended finish you see on tour.

✅ Stay bent and you’ve likely blocked your hips from clearing - the upper body has nowhere to go but down.
✅ Extend the spine and your body has rotated fully - the finish is the reward for a proper turn, not a pose.

The finish doesn’t lie. If yours looks cramped, the problem started earlier in the swing.

📩 Send this to your playing partner who always looks stuck and flat through the ball.

Most golfers ruin their swing in the first foot of the backswing - before they’ve even started.

The fix is simpler than you think. Keep your chest and the butt of the club moving as one unit from the very start.

✅ One-piece takeaway - this keeps the club on plane early and removes the need to compensate later in the swing.
✅ Pause at the top of your takeaway - this lets you feel the correct position before any bad habits can creep in.
✅ Then swing freely - once the takeaway is right, the rest of the swing has a clean foundation to work from.

You don’t need a swing overhaul. You just need a better starting move.

📩 Send this to your playing partner who always starts the club back with their hands.

The moment your trail wrist breaks down, the putter face twists and the ball goes nowhere near where you aimed.

One simple fix:

✅ Place a ball between the grip and your trail hand - this creates immediate feedback if the wrist breaks, because the ball drops
✅ It forces your shoulders to drive the stroke - which is where putting consistency actually comes from
✅ You can use it on the practice green in minutes - no special equipment, no complicated setup

📩 Send this to your playing partner who always blames the greens but never looks at their stroke.
