The Golden Repair:
In this ancient Japanese art, they believed that objects had an opportunity to become more beautiful and more valuable because of their cracks & flaws. The spaces between need to exist for the gold to be added. The cracks simply unlocked the opportunity within. No two cracks or pieces are identical, and so these repairs that are performed, are by design, unique, so it’s impossible for one object to be just like another one. That uniqueness is not only accepted but embraced.
Over the years, I’ve come to learn one thing; that friends help friends fill in the cracks, and very often leave us better and more whole than when they found us.
