This ancient folk lore Figure Carving & Whittling Class is for any one who would like to learn about Old European wood carving tradition, "Swedish Whittling and German Wood Carving from the Alps". You will be given instructions on how to use knives and gouges. Learn how to sharpen your tools. Learn how to choose your subject, find the local nature carving woods and do the figure lay out. You will be shown how to figure carve & paint the figures. Dave Paul was taught in Augsburg & Munich Germany & Bavarian Alps in 1971-2, and has been a commercial Master Wood Carver, designer, craftsman and sculptor since 1976. 3 hr. class p/ wk. in eve. for 8 weeks at Middle School Shop in Sandy Ut. ..
