KHFC Update – Post Hurricane Ian

First and foremost, we hope that everyone weathered hurricane Ian safely and is in good health.

We wanted to advise everyone that although the St. John’s River/Lake Monroe has not yet crested, which is close to us here in Central FL, all evidence that we are storing is safe and secured and our facility is fully operational.

As expected, we have had numerous fire losses in post-hurricane damaged areas and we are working on logistics to access these locations - especially on barrier islands, where bridges have been washed out or damaged due to the hurricane.

As many of you know, Kevin Hays is a USGC licensed boat captain. That being said, we are able to provide logistical support to reach these barrier islands in SW Florida that have no bridge access. This service is available for adjusters and insurance personnel needing to access to these islands.

Attached is a photo of our boat in route to SW Florida to assist a client with accessing one of the barrier islands.

🔥 Kevin Hays will be presenting on Friday, June 10 at 8:00am on Managing Complex Fire Investigations. Attendees will be provided with information related to complex fire scenes and the management differences required from typical or common fires. He will discuss the importance of managing complex fire scenes and how to do that properly.

On Tuesday, our KHFC team was invited to put on a small burn and learn and CE for the new Claims Examiner Trainee class at Security First Insurance Company! Kevin Hays did a presentation on Fire Investigations and Important Considerations Beyond the Scene followed by some live demonstrations in the parking lot!

A huge Thank you Security First for allowing us to come out!
