In April, 2005, father, Randy Kirk, a seasoned carpenter, and son, Tommy Kirk, a steel fabrication expert, work together in creating fully assembled wood sheds that are delivered quickly via a custom designed trailer. Randy’s experience as a foreman for a residential framing company led to simple but incredibly durable sheds using the same construction techniques he learned by framing houses. Tomm

y’s propensity to innovate and his experience as the general manager of a local steel fabricator led to a trailer design that can accommodate taller loads. This allows The Shed Depot of NC to deliver the tallest portable sheds in the industry fully assembled. Together, the residential construction quality and taller shed capabilities is foundational to who The Shed Depot of NC is today. A sales office was soon established in a small corner of Tommy’s business along highway 421 in Sanford, NC. Quality and deliverability resonated with customers and a manufacturing facility was purchased in 2007. The new facility allowed The Shed Depot to improve production efficiency, reduce environmental impacts and sell quality sheds for less than on-site contractors. This recipe of quality and delivery lead to a network of retail locations established by their new sales manager, Josh Payne, in 2008.
