Blown-In Cellulose Insulation offers several benefits over traditional fiberglass insulation:

Environmentally Friendly: Cellulose insulation is made from recycled materials, primarily newspaper and paper products. By reusing these materials, it reduces waste in landfills, helping to lower our carbon footprint and promoting sustainability.

Better Insulation Efficiency (Higher R-Value): The R-value of cellulose insulation is higher than that of fiberglass. With an R-value of approximately R-3.2 per inch, it provides better thermal resistance compared to fiberglass, which has an R-value of R-2.2 per inch. This means cellulose is more efficient at keeping homes cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

Healthier Alternative: Unlike fiberglass insulation, cellulose does not contain fiberglass particles, which can cause skin irritation, respiratory issues, and other health problems. Fiberglass has also been linked to cancer risks, making cellulose a safer choice for home insulation.

Cost-Effective: Blown-in cellulose insulation tends to be cheaper than other types of insulation, potentially saving homeowners up to 25% compared to fiberglass. It also helps to reduce energy bills in the long term due to its superior thermal properties.

Fills Cracks and Gaps: The blown-in installation process allows cellulose to easily fill gaps, cracks, and crevices, creating a seamless barrier against heat loss or gain. This can result in better overall air sealing and energy efficiency for your home.

Fire and Pest Resistance: Cellulose insulation is treated with boric acid, which provides increased fire resistance, prevents the growth of mold, and discourages insects and pests from inhabiting your insulation.

Long-Term Durability: Unlike some insulation materials that degrade over time, cellulose maintains its R-value longer. The addition of an acrylic binder ensures that the insulation settles in place during installation and reduces the long-term loss of R-value, which is common in other materials.

In summary, blown-in cellulose insulation offers enhanced energy efficiency, cost savings, safety, and environmental benefits compared to traditional fiberglass, making it a popular choice for homeowners looking to improve their home's insulation.
