❓What is a soft close?
⏱️In a soft close auction, each item has a scheduled closing time. If a bid is placed within the last 1 minute before, the auction automatically extends that lot by an additional minute. This extension resets the countdown, and the process can repeat if more bids come in during the new window. The auction only ends when no bids are received during the extended period.
🥷Prevents sniping: Without a soft close, someone could win an item by placing a bid in the final seconds, even if others were still interested.

What Is a Max Bid?

A Max Bid on HiBid is the highest amount you're willing to pay for a lot. Once entered, the system will automatically bid on your behalf—only as much as needed—to help keep you in the lead.

How to Place a Max Bid:
Find the lot you want to bid on.
Click Place Bid.
On the confirmation screen, enter your Maximum Bid Amount.
Click Confirm Bid.

Can I Edit or Lower My Max Bid?

Lowering a Max Bid:

❌ A Max Bid cannot be lowered or removed once it has been placed.

If you need to reduce your Max Bid, you must contact the auctioneer directly.
