"We've always done it this way."

Four words that can keep an organization from recognizing opportunities to improve.

Just because a process has worked for years doesn't necessarily mean it's the safest or most effective approach today.

Equipment changes. Workplaces evolve. New risks emerge. And sometimes, the practices we rely on most are the ones we rarely question.

At AMERIND, Risk Control is about more than inspections and training. It's about working alongside Tribal governments, businesses, and housing programs to identify exposures, evaluate existing practices, and find practical ways to reduce risk before a loss occurs.

When did your organization last review a long-standing procedure?

Prevention Is Protection.

What are the odds that our CEO's 26th work anniversary falls on National Boss's Day? Coincidence? We'll let Derek answer that one! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Today, we're celebrating two special occasions and one remarkable leader.

For 26 years, Derek Valdo has dedicated himself to AMERIND and the Tribal Nations we serve. His leadership goes beyond words. It shows in our organization's growth, the relationships we've built, and our unwavering commitment to protecting and advancing Tribal sovereignty.

Under his guidance, AMERIND continues to grow stronger, creating opportunities and building a lasting legacy for future generations of Indian Country.

Please join us in wishing Derek a Happy Boss's Day and a Happy 26th Anniversary! If you see him, give him a high five!

Imagine experiencing property damage, only to discover your insurance settlement may be less than what it costs to replace what you lost.

That's why understanding the difference between replacement cost and actual cash value matters.

One generally looks at the cost of replacing damaged property, while the other accounts for depreciation. Both can affect what you receive following a covered loss.

Knowing how your property is valued is an important part of protecting your Tribal government's or business's assets.

You don't have to wait until renewal season to review your insurance. Whether you're covered by AMERIND or another carrier, we're happy to review your policy, explain what it covers, and answer your questions.

Have questions about your coverage? Let's talk! Call us at 800.352.3496.

What a wonderful time celebrating 30 years of the National Native American Human Resources Association

AMERIND is proud to have partnered with NNAHRA for 20 years, supporting its work to strengthen Tribal organizations and the professionals who serve Indian Country. This year's Annual Conference was especially meaningful as we celebrated NNAHRA's 30th anniversary and continued our support as a Premier Sponsor.

We were also honored to have AMERIND CEO Derek Valdo speak at the Awards Luncheon.

Thank you, NNAHRA, for another incredible conference and for 20 years of partnership. We look forward to continuing this journey together!

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month! ๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ”’

Cyber threats keep evolving, and protecting your organization starts with everyday actions. A suspicious email, an unexpected link, or an overlooked update can give cybercriminals an opportunity.

This month, take time to strengthen your cybersecurity habits, talk with your team about emerging threats, and make cyber awareness part of your organizationโ€™s culture. A little prevention today can help protect your people, operations, and information tomorrow.
