📅 WHAT ARE THEY UP TO WEDNESDAY

This Wednesday, we're doing something a little different.

Our Wednesday series has traditionally celebrated organizations we've had the pleasure of partnering with through Calendar Fundraising. But this week, we discovered a nonprofit whose mission is so meaningful that we simply want to help share its story.

This week, we're shining our spotlight on the PMG Awareness Organization, an all-volunteer nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by Polymicrogyria (PMG), a rare disorder of brain development that many people may never know about.

Imagine receiving a diagnosis of a condition you know little to nothing about and struggling to find answers, resources, or others who understand what your family is experiencing.

That's where organizations like PMG Awareness make such an important difference.

Led by a volunteer board of families, caregivers, and medical professionals, their mission is to build a community of support through education, advocacy, and awareness—helping families navigate the challenges of PMG while reminding them they are not alone.

Relying on private donations and community fundraising efforts, this organization demonstrates just how much can be accomplished when people come together for a shared purpose.

Before choosing your photos, think about how you want supporters to FEEL when they turn each page.

Your calendar is an opportunity to tell your organization's story through emotion.

🐾 Animal rescues: Compassion, hope and the joy of second chances.

🎓 Schools & youth programs: Pride, accomplishment and a sense of belonging.

🌱 Garden clubs: Beauty, tranquility and inspiration.

🎨 Arts organizations: Creativity, imagination and self-expression.

🤝 Community nonprofits: Connection, gratitude and the power of working together.

Choose images, colors and messages that reflect those feelings. When your calendar creates an emotional connection, it becomes more than a fundraiser—it becomes something supporters treasure all year long.

📅 FUN FACT FRIDAY — Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Did you know… some everyday healthy choices may help lower your risk of breast cancer?

Staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol are among the lifestyle choices associated with a lower risk of breast cancer.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month—a reminder that awareness isn’t only about wearing pink. It’s also about understanding your risk, knowing your body, and keeping up with recommended screenings.

And when someone in our community faces breast cancer, showing up matters. Fundraisers, support groups, meals, rides, and simple acts of kindness can all help remind someone that they aren't facing it alone.

Awareness starts with knowledge. Support grows through community. 🎀

💡 Tuesday’s Tip # 18: START SELLING BEFORE YOUR CALENDARS ARRIVE!

Don’t wait until your calendars are printed to start taking orders. And, don't make your supporters "hunt" for a way to purchase!

Create a short pre-order campaign and reach the supporters who already know your organization.

📧 Start with your email list.
Reach past donors, volunteers, members, parents, alumni and other supporters. Include a large “PRE-ORDER YOUR CALENDAR” button that takes them directly to the purchase page.

📱 Promote pre-orders on social media.
Share your calendar cover or a sneak peek and include the purchase link wherever possible.

📲 Add a QR code to graphics and printed materials.
Use it on social graphics, flyers, posters and event materials so supporters can scan and go straight to the purchase page.

⏰ Give pre-orders a deadline.
“Pre-order by October 31” gives supporters a reason to buy now rather than putting it off.

📣 Don’t announce it just once.
Launch the campaign, share a sneak peek, send a reminder and finish with a “Last Chance to Pre-Order” message.
Pre-orders build excitement, generate early sales and help you estimate demand before placing your final calendar order.

📅 FUN FACT FRIDAY — International Day of Non-Violence

Did you know… October 2 is the International Day of Non-Violence?

The date was chosen because it is the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, whose philosophy of nonviolence helped inspire peaceful movements for civil rights and social change around the world.

Here’s the fun fact: The United Nations established the observance in 2007 to promote a culture of peace, tolerance and nonviolence.

It’s a wonderful reminder that strengthening a community doesn’t always begin with a grand gesture. Kindness, understanding, respect and working together can make an impact, too.

Let’s celebrate the people and organizations working every day to make their communities more peaceful, supportive and connected.

💡TUESDAY'S TIP # 17 - GIVE YOUR SUPPORTERS A SALES SCRIPT!
“Will you help us sell calendars?” can feel like a big ask.
Make it easier. Give your supporters a few simple ideas for who to ask—and what to say.
Instead of thinking only about close family and friends, encourage them to think about their everyday circles:
👨‍👩‍👧 Family & friends
“Would you like one for your kitchen, office or as a gift?”
💼 Coworkers & neighbors
“We’re raising money for our organization and selling calendars. Would you like to support us?”
🎁 People they normally give small gifts to
Think grandparents, teachers, coworkers, caregivers, hosts or neighbors.
🤝 People connected to the cause
Animal lovers, sports fans, alumni, church members, gardeners, arts supporters—or anyone who has a natural connection to your mission.
And give supporters one important reminder:
They aren't asking someone to simply make a donation. They're offering something useful in return while raising money for a cause they care about.
Make selling feel manageable
Instead of:
“Can you help us sell calendars?”
Try:
“Can you think of 10 people who might enjoy a calendar or give one as a gift?”
That small change gives supporters a specific, achievable goal—and gets them thinking beyond the people who already follow your organization.

Every Wednesday, we celebrate the passionate communities we've had the pleasure of partnering with.

This week's spotlight is on Angel PAWS 🐾 a cat-only rescue serving Central New Jersey.

Angel PAWS operates a free-roam, no-kill adoption center in Colonia, NJ, where cats can socialize and meet potential families in a comfortable environment. They also have cats available for adoption at RAHWAY Kitty Hall, New Jersey's first cat cafe.

We're especially grateful that Angel PAWS has chosen CalendarFundraising.com every year since 2021 to help produce their annual fundraising calendar. Their supporters have made the calendar an annual tradition they look forward to, and we love being a part of it!
