📆 WHAT ARE THEY UP TO WEDNESDAY

It just so happens that today is National Dogs Day. 🐾What better way to celebrate than by shining this week's spotlight on an organization dedicated to helping dogs in need?

This week, we're celebrating Water's Edge Great Dane Rescue, Inc., a foster-home-based 501(c)(3) rescue located in Bonneau, South Carolina, serving Great Danes and their families throughout the Southeast.

We're delighted to recognize Karensa Hardy, who has created fundraising calendars for Water's Edge Great Dane Rescue using Calendar Fundraising. Proceeds from the sale of each calendar goes directly to the rescue, helping support the work they do for Great Danes in need.

Karensa's dedication to these gentle giants extends beyond the rescue. She also owns IT'S IN THE BAG, where she creates handmade, custom items for furry family members, with a special focus on giant breeds. Those looking for coats and crate covers can also find her through the GREAT DANE COAT CLUB.

Don't rely on one social media post to sell your fundraising calendars. Your biggest sales force may already be right in front of you - your supporters.

👥 GIVE EVERYONE A SMALL GOAL.
Ask board members, parents, volunteers, team members or other supporters to sell just 5 - 10 calendars each.

📸 GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO SHARE.
Provide a calendar cover or sneak peek they can text, email or post to their own friends and family.

💘SELL THE MISSION NOT JUST THE CALENDAR.
Tell buyer what their purchase helps accomplish: "Every calendar sold helps send our team to competition."

🛍 ENCOURAGE MULTIPLE PURCHASES.
Calendars make useful gifts for grandparents, family, friends, and co-workers. One supporter can easily become more than one sale.

🕰 CREATE A DEADLINE.
A preorder deadline gives supporters a reason to act instead of thinking, "I'll buy one later."

THINK ABOUT THE POSSIBILITIES: 25 supporters selling just 10 calendars each = 250 calendars sold!

Your calendar doesn't have to be all photos.

When designing your calendar, you can choose to feature 1,2,3, or 4 images each month. Consider using one of those image spaces to share a helpful monthly tip from your organization or even one of your sponsors.

🐖Animal Rescue? - Share a pet care tip.
🍃Garden Club? - Offer seasonal planting advice.
🎶Music Program? - Include a practice or performance tip.
🏠Have a Realtor Sponsor? - Feature a seasonal home maintenance tip.
🍽 Have a Restaurant Sponsor? - Share a favorite recipe or cooking tip.

It's a simple way to give your supporters something extra to enjoy each month while giving sponsors another creative way to connect with your community.

Did you know... before standardized calendars, many people tracked time by the weather and the harvest? 🌞🌽

Long before printed calendars hung on the wall, people knew it was time to plant, harvest or prepare for winter by watching the seasons, the skies, and the changing weather.

Around this time of year they didn't need a calendar to know it was August, they just knew it was HOT! 🥵

Thankfully, today we have calendars to keep us on schedule... and air conditioning to keep us cool.

📅 WHAT ARE THEY UP TO WEDNESDAY

This week's spotlight is on the Missouri Valley College Dance Team, one of the many inspiring organizations we've had the pleasure of working with through Calendar Fundraising.

Their mission is to pursue excellence in dance, leadership, and teamwork while representing Missouri Valley College with pride, integrity and Viking spirit.

The program is made up of two outstanding teams:
💙 Viking Line – competitive and game day
💙 Valley Girls – game day

Throughout the year they bring energy and school spirit to football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and wrestling while competing at National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics competitions and Dance Team Union. Congratulations to the team on an outstanding week at Universal Dance Association camp where they earned:
🏆 Team Superior in evaluations
🏆 Superior in Game Day evaluation
🥉 3rd Place in Fight Song (Open Division)

We're so please to know that their Calendar Fundraising project funded their end-of-year banquet, giving the dance team an opportunity to celebrate another successful season together.

A special thank you to Head Dance Coach, Kristen Revis for choosing Calendar Fundraising and allowing us to have a small part in supporting your program.
