IT'S PLAYTIME!

Today I want to talk about creativity, joy, and play in business.

First, let’s look at the word “WORK”!

What comes to mind when you think of WORK? Is there meaning that it's hard or tiring or stressful, you might even have a memory of when you were a child…that one or both of your parents were always working and not available to play with you, or were they really stressed out about work or were having conflicts in their jobs. Or work is just something I need to do so I can be successful or have money, so I can do the fun things that I want to do with my free time.

What if you were able to redefine the meaning of the word WORK.

What if we changed it to the word “PLAY”!

What would that be like?

What would that be like to wake up and say today I'm going to have so much fun at PLAY today. I'm going to be curious. I'm going to be creative. I'm going to be of service at the highest level. I am going to be in my light and in my sparkle, in my genius zone.

How does that feel?

To put yourself in a PLAY state. That's where the best ideas and solutions come from. To be in play and in wonderment, in the wow, that's a whole different perspective, isn't it?

I invite you to think of a time, a particular time when you were having a lot of fun, joy, creativity, and wonderment? It might be on the weekend or with your family or your kids or on vacation. It could be when you were a child when you were being so free and playful and there was no care in the world. It was just you at the moment you were being present. Now step into that moment looking through your own eyes, see what you saw, hear what you heard and feel what you are feeling…that’s right! Stay there for a few moments, and breathe into that feeling, that freedom, that pure bliss!!! YES!

Now move forward along your timeline to the present and bring that feeling into your business, into your pitch, into your meetings, into your marketing initiatives, into your networking event, into your book draft, and even on stage! It would feel fantastic! Now lock that into place, like a padlock!

You can access the feeling of wonderment, joy, play, and creativity at any time just by remembering that time in your past and instilling it into your present situation!

Why not give it a try...because what is the alternative? Being overwhelmed, stressed, worried, forcing yourself to solve a problem or coming up with a solution. Not so fun, huh!

Because when you are in your joy, your light, your sparkle it is infectious, people want to be around that. People want to be in the presence of that because it's refreshing, it's inviting. It can make all the difference!

Today is the last day of my 30-day Video Series and I wanted to recap what I have been talking about as well as Whats next.
To summarize In the first week I covered foundations, flexibility, mindset, the Gap, and your Big Why. In week 2, I talked about some of the presenting blocks that may hold you back from growing your business such as Procrastination, Perfectionism, and Imposter Syndrome. In week 3, I talked about some of the deeper blocks that may be underlying such as fear, worthiness, and not feeling enough and in Week 4, I showed you several processes and techniques to help you make the shift in building confidence, overcoming procrastination and perfectionism as well as powerful questions to ask yourself.

Hi everyone, my name is Kathy Bryant with the Brilliance Factor. I am a dream catalyst and business coach. I am committed to supporting women entrepreneurs and a few brave men to step into their own bold brilliance, the new empowered you. Where you are unapologetic, confident in your own skin, where you think just a little differently… draw outside the lines, challenge those limiting beliefs…ask more questions…why do I want this, what is important, where is the line drawn in the sand? So, you can have a wildly success business, earning the money and making the impact you desire!

Today I am talking about overcoming perfectionism.  
Do you rework, and rework something and still not release it because it is not perfect?
Do you want it to be perfect before I put it out there?
Do you worry what others might think?
Do you consider yourself a perfectionist?

Here are a few tips to overcome procrastination?

1) First acknowledge the problem, and name it. 

2) then ask yourself these questions:   

-Perfect according to whom?  Is it your standard or someone else’s standard?  - Your parents, relatives? your school? society, or by your culture?

-What, or who, else would benefit from YOU letting go of your perfectionism?  

-What is it that you could BE or DO instead?  

-What would it be worth to YOU to be able to overcome the procrastination that holds you back from being your best, now?  

3) Paint a picture or create a movie in your mind where you are taking bold action. Be detailed: What do you see, what do you hear? How do you feel when you see yourself in the picture? Not step into the picture or movie and look through your own eyes, see what you see, hear what you hear, and deeply feel what you feel at that moment where you completed and posted, published, released, or submitted that which you used to be a perfectionist in the past.  

4) Adopt the belief and repeat this mantra: I AM PERFECTLY IMPERFECT AND THAT IS MORE THAN ENOUGH! THE WORLD IS WAITING FOR ME, the _______________ (book, the program, the product release, the paper) whatever you have been wanting to do. The clients, customers, professors, and team members need what you have to offer.  

We are all growing, learning, and gaining new insights, awareness, skills, and experiences. As an entrepreneur, we are curious, resourceful, and creative. We take risks and overcome challenges. We strive for excellence, but don’t let that stop us from achieving our goals.
