15 years ago today, I taught my first Zumba class barely able to move.

Rheumatoid arthritis. Fibromyalgia. A broken heart. I had no idea I was taking the first step out of the darkest chapter of my life — and into the work I would build everything else upon.

I was declared a medical miracle. I reversed the disease completely, and went on to dance people back to the truth of who they are. The awards and the accolades came, but underneath all of it was something quieter: a foundation of gratitude, and a deep knowing that we are each capable of living the life we design — and that no one gets to tell us we are incurable.
