Here at the Santa Barbara Courthouse, there are so many beautiful spaces to have a wedding ceremony.

You can rent out spaces in the Sunken Gardens for a fee, or if you are planning an intimate wedding, you can contact me to find out where there are secret spots on the grounds where there is no fee.

It all started when the beautiful bride walked down the stairs in the iconic bridal designer Monique Lhuillier’s timeless gown…
This ceremony at Kestrel Park was like something out of a dreamy fairytale. The mood was heightened with rows of fragrant flowers and sycamore trees, and the English-like castle setting was the perfect place to unite this sweet couple on their special day. The very personalized ceremony that took place demonstrates one of my favorite styles of a romantic summer wedding in California.

As an officiant, I always love seeing the magic that happens during an elopement ceremony. Its as though the bond between the couple gains a new vibrancy; especially here at the historical Santa Barbara Courthouse exterior garden. There is no fee necessary for weddings here and there are many gorgeous spots for beautiful photos like this.

As elopements have become the “new normal,” couples are discovering that focusing on creating an experience unique just for them is actually a relief. The common practices of caring about the entertainment and needs of others fly out the window, not to say that there’s also a bit of comfort in knowing the enormous expense of a reception has been avoided. We all have been looking for the “silver linings” of Covid-19, and the joy of marrying the love of your life in a very meaningful way is certainly that.
