Carr Vineyards & Winery is a small, handcrafted winery producing 4500 cases in downtown Santa Barbara. Owner & Winemaker, Ryan Carr established the winery in 1999. All of the wines made by Carr are sourced from Santa Barbara County vineyards and are made in a traditional winemaking style to capture the essence of the grape varietal and region. The vast microclimates of Santa Barbara County allow the winery to produce several wines including Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, Grenache, Cabernet Franc and Syrah. Wine Tasting & Wines by the Glass offered daily.

Punchdowns!

This may look fun and effortless but for 3 months straight, 3 times a day, punchdowns are happening while you wait for your next favorites to be made. Harvest means that grapes are coming in weekly and punchdowns are happening daily.

🍇 Prevents the top layer of grapes, skins, and seeds (the cap) from drying out and spoiling.
🔥 Releases trapped heat as a result of fermentation, which can kill the helpful yeast.
🫧 Introduces small amounts of oxygen, keeping the yeast strong and active.
