Here in Santa Barbara Wine Country, tarantulas are a sign of good luck during harvest. In the vineyard we always try to move them out of danger during picking. While they may look terrifying they are quite calm and docile creatures deserving of respect and protection.

Our legal company name is Rockets Red Outfitters, I chose that when we reorganized a few years ago because I wanted to create a line of travel & adventure shirts based on alternative & fictional history designs I’ve been working on. Since I’m not making wine this season it’s the perfect time to work on this project. My first two designs are an alternate history US Space Force logo & a fictional Roman Legion. I’ve already done a small run of the USSF shirts & Roman legion shirts are coming next month. Both shirts feature our Rockets Red logo on the front & these designs on the back. All our designs rely solely on RI, never AI.

Four years ago I came to Boston for the Home Base Intensive Clinical Program to heal the PTSD & depression that nearly ended my life in 2021. That experience saved & changed my life in many positive ways. Today was a humbling experience to be back in Boston surrounded by folks committed to helping others vets struggling with mental health issues.

I’m forever committed to using our wine & my voice to raise awareness for the struggles vets face.

13 years ago yesterday was my last day in uniform wrapping up nearly 22 years of service in the USAF. There’s a lot I miss from my old military life, but I’m much happier these days as a wine maker & mental health advocate.

My post retirement goal was to open a winery & make great wine but I never expected to pivot into a mental health advocate. My life changed in 2020/21 when PTSD & depression took hold and wouldn’t let go, thankfully I’m recovered & here today because the treatment I received Home Base,

Every time you buy a bottle of our wine, a portion of that sale goes to the Home Base Program to help other vets the way they helped me.

I don’t enter many wine competitions but I enjoy the one Peninsula.Underground puts on every year. It’s been over a decade since the military gave me a medal but it’s still nice for my hard work nice to recognized with other medals.
