Creative companies do not need more random exposure. They need to be seen in the right market, by the right buyers, in the right room.

As we look at the remaining 2026 CONNECTIONS by LE BOOK cities, the real questions are:

Where do we need to be seen next?

Which market aligns with our growth goals?

Which buyers should know us better?

Where can we create the most relevant conversations?

Where will our work make the most sense?

In my latest article, I share the remaining CONNECTIONS cities and why each market offers a different opportunity for exhibitors looking to build visibility, relationships and new business.

Almost a year ago, Chewy was on the euthanasia list.

SPARC saved his life, and ever since then, John Sorosky has been training him (THANK YOU!) I’ve been his handler and we have been loving him, advocating for him, and trying to find the person who will finally see what we see.

And the truth is… part of the reason Chewy hasn’t been adopted yet is because we love him so much. We are protective of him. We don’t want him going to just anyone.

Secretly, I wish I could adopt him myself. I really do. But for many reasons, I can’t.

Chewy is one of those dogs who loves deeply and gets into your heart.

He is strong. Confident. Loyal. Protective. Obedient. Affectionate. Sweet. Smart. Deeply loving with the people he trusts.

If you are looking for a guard dog and a cuddle bug Chewy might be your guy!

He has worked so hard. He is beautifully trained and just needs someone who will keep up with the structure and guidance he already knows.

Chewy needs a strong, confident, experienced owner, someone who understands powerful dogs, leads calmly, and wants a true best friend and protector.

He gets along with most dogs and has so much love to give.

Chewy is not for just anyone.

He is for the person who looks at him and says, “That’s my dog.”

Please share him. His person has to be out there. Please text me for more info or to adopt Chewy 805-452-5646

Scooter doesn’t need another chance.
He needs someone who won’t leave him again.

📍 Scooter is at the Santa Barbara County Animal Services Shelter – Lompoc
⏰ They are OPEN TODAY until 5:00 PM

He has already been returned — not because he did anything wrong, not because he’s a “problem dog,” but because life changed for the humans who promised him forever. And Scooter paid the price.

Again.

This dog has been through more than most will ever know. Each time he’s uprooted, something inside him breaks a little more. The shelter is not just loud or stressful for Scooter — it crushes his spirit. You can see it in his eyes. His mental health declines. He shuts down. He waits.

Scooter is not a dog who can be left alone outside, forgotten, or treated like an afterthought.
He craves connection.
He needs his person.
He needs to feel chosen — and stay chosen.

Right now, Scooter doesn’t need perfection.
He needs safety.
A home.
A foster.
A rescue.
A sanctuary.
One steady place where he can exhale and stop wondering when he’ll be moved again.

Please — if you’re reading this, share Scooter.
Share him like his life depends on it, because in many ways, it does.

He is a good dog.
He is a loving dog.
He is a dog who has never stopped hoping that the next set of arms will be the last.

Let’s not fail him again.
Let’s be the reason Scooter finally gets to stay.

UPDATE: PAULO IS SAFE 🐾💙

Because of quick action and compassion, Paulo is now safe. This is the outcome we were all hoping and praying for.

I’m deeply grateful to the Jason Heigl Foundation for stepping in when it mattered most. They said yes when Paulo needed a lifeline.

Now I’m asking for help to support the next step.

We’re working to raise around $3,000 to cover Paulo’s boarding and care, ensuring he stays safe, stable, and supported while his future is secured.

🙏 Please donate any amount you can

This… this is what healing looks like. ❤️🙌 Dogs are so much better than people. There’s so much to learn. I’m learning from Knox… a lot

He wasn’t hesitant when I first met him. He was protective.

As if to say: “ i’ll bite you first before you hurt me. I’ve been hurt too many times. Nope, not going to trust you or you…”

He had been hurt.
Returned to the shelter twice.
I don’t know exactly what happened to him, but trauma leaves a signature, and he carried his quietly.

A truth that holds for traumatized humans as well…

So I slowed everything down.
I fed him gently.
I let him lead.
I let him choose.

He wasn’t trained… yet once trust existed, he learned faster than I could keep up.

Intelligence doesn’t need force.
It needs permission.

We didn’t build a relationship through control.

We built it through respect ❤️

My name is Santiago, but my friends call me Santi.

I’m a big boy—about 100 pounds—and I know that can look intimidating at first. But I promise you, I’m all heart. I’m five years old, neutered, and I’ve been waiting here since January 2, 2026, hoping someone will see past the kennel door and notice the gentle soul behind these eyes.

I’ll be honest with you: the shelter is hard for me. It’s loud, unfamiliar, and I don’t understand why I’m still here. I’m a sensitive dog, and I feel things deeply. What helps is getting outside—when the leash goes on and the world opens up, I exhale.

Once I’m out, I walk right beside you, calm and steady, like I’ve been doing it my whole life. I hop into the car politely and sit quietly, ready for whatever adventure comes next. I know sit and down, and I really like treats, which makes learning new things pretty exciting for me.

Recently, a kind community member took me on a day trip. We walked up and down State Street together. I noticed other dogs, but I stayed relaxed and kept moving. A little dog barked at me, but I didn’t react—I just kept walking, because peace matters to me.

I met lots of people that day, too. Strangers became friends, and I gently took treats from their hands. At one point, I stretched out on cool bathroom tile to rest, completely content, even when people stepped carefully over me. That’s who I am—easygoing, trusting, and grateful just to be included.

What I want most is simple: a calm home, a soft place to rest, and someone who understands that big dogs can be tender souls. I will give you loyalty, quiet companionship, and a presence that makes a house feel safe and full.

If you’re looking for a gentle giant to walk beside you—literally and in life—I’m right here, waiting to meet you.

Come see me at Santa Barbara County Animal Services – Santa Barbara
📍 5473 Overpass Rd, Santa Barbara
🕙 Tuesday–Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Please don’t let me keep waiting. I’m ready to go home.
