❄️ And just like that... snow's back in the mix! According to the US National Weather Service San Diego California, we *could* receive light snow on Thursday and Friday. Be prepared for winter weather conditions!

🚜 As a reminder, snowplowing only occurs on City-maintained streets when snow accumulation reaches 3 inches. Our Public Works crews are closely monitoring weather conditions. Caltrans District 8 is responsible for clearing Big Bear Boulevard and the state highways leading up to Big Bear. ⁠

🗺️ We want to remind motorists to monitor road conditions frequently, exercise caution while driving in the mountains during inclement weather, carry appropriately sized tire chains or cables, and avoid parking on city streets when snow conditions exist. ⁠

With the potential for chain control to be in effect, here is some helpful info if you plan on utilizing the chain installation service:

⛓️Chain installers are required to wear their bright yellow bibs

⛓️Chain installer bibs have a unique number to identify the individual

⛓️Chain installers are required to carry their CalTrans issued photo identification

⛓️Chain installers are not allowed to stand in the roadway and direct traffic into the install area

⛓️Chain installers are not allowed to sell chains

⛓️Chain installers are required to post price or advise of price of install prior to installation

If any issues arise, please do not hesitate to advise CalTrans and CHP. Happy travels. Stay safe!
