Thank you Mayor Javier Sanchez and Councilors of the City of Espanola for the Recognition! Northern New Mexico Blue Star Mothers Chapter 4 are honored to have been able to support our Sons and Daughters willing to serve our Great Country with the support from friends, family and businesses near and far.

After 11 years of service to NM4, the current officers are all helping immediate family and are unable to continue investing the time and commitment necessary to create a successful organization. We ask that you continue to pray for our military and support the other two Blue Star Mothers Organizations in Farmington and Albuquerque. We can provide them with our addresses and have a local fundraiser to help with the costs.

This evening a dozen of our Blue Star Mothers and Associates had a fun dinner at La Cocina chatting about our Journey as Blue Star Mothers for over 11 years. Northern New Mexico Blue Star Mothers of America have made the very difficult decision to disband at this time.

Some of us founders of this chapter in the Valley committed to its success for the majority of those 11 years in the same officer positions. We are forever grateful for the continuous support that our Friends, Families and Communities near and far have provided over the years. I have been the President of this organization for the majority of its existence and I am so proud of our members and associates.

We have had a lot of accomplishments but the biggest accomplishment and the one we are most proud of are the hundreds of care packages we have had your help in packaging and mailing to our heroes- our military sons and daughters that are prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice. We ask that you, if able, to continue to support our military with your resources, your talents and especially your Prayers. We have two sister chapters in Albuquerque and Farmington.

We thank those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and pray for their families.

The Department of Defense announced today the deaths of 13 service members who were supporting Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.

They died Aug. 26, 2021, as the result of an enemy attack while supporting non-combatant evacuation operations in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Today, we honor their service and their sacrifice.
