The future of flight has arrived in Texas.
Today we’re kicking off the state’s first White House-backed eIPP flights in partnership with the Texas Dept. of Transportation, flying real-world routes with true vertical lift aircraft across North Texas all week, including direct flights into DFW International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world.
Four missions, one week:
🤝 Alliance Kickoff: joint flight demonstration at Perot Field Fort Worth AllianceTexas Airport.
✈️ DFW Integration: entering controlled airspace and landing at DFW Corporate Aviation.
🏈 Arlington Gameday Preview: low-noise flight over the heart of Texas gameday country.
💼 Plano Corporate Connector: flying the planned route linking AFW to Toyota’s corporate campus.
None of this happened overnight.
The The FAA and NASA began studying electric air taxi integration in North Texas in 2018. This week, that research becomes real flights in real airspace, generating the operational data needed to write the rules for commercial service at scale.
And we’re not just visiting.
Our new 45,000-square-foot facility at Perot Field within the AllianceTexas Mobility Innovation Zone is now home base for Joby in North Texas. Texas has the infrastructure, the growth, and the partnerships to lead the next era of American aviation.
The typical DFW driver loses around 44 hours a year to traffic.
Imagine skipping the hours drive to the game, the terminal, or the office, and taking a quiet, emission-free flight in minutes instead.
That’s what this week is about.
