We are supplying custom windows made of Starphire brand of ultra-clear, low-iron soda-lime glass known for its superior transparency and distinct azure blue edge, unlike standard soda-lime glass which has a green tint due to iron impurities. While it shares similar mechanical properties with regular soda-lime glass (used for windows, bottles), Starphire's low iron content allows significantly more light transmission, making it ideal for applications where clarity and color fidelity are crucial, like shower doors or tabletops, despite being more costly.

Key Characteristics
Low Iron Content: Standard soda-lime glass contains iron oxide, causing a green tint, especially noticeable in thicker panes; Starphire has this iron removed.

Ultra-Clear Appearance: This reduction in iron results in "water-white" clarity with minimal green tinge, even in thicker sections.
Distinct Blue Edge: When cut, Starphire glass reveals a unique, vibrant azure blue color on its edges, contrasting with the green edge of standard glass.

High Light Transmission: It transmits more visible light (over 91%) than regular glass, enhancing color and design.

Soda-Lime Base: It's still fundamentally a soda-lime glass, meaning it has similar strength and durability to standard glass but lacks the high heat/chemical resistance of borosilicate.
