Here’s something I’ve noticed.
When things aren’t going the way we want — when the team is struggling, or progress feels stuck, or the same frustrations keep showing up over and over — we have a very human tendency to look outward for the source of the problem.
It’s the budget. The team. The culture. The training didn’t stick. The org structure is the problem. The person above us. The people below us.
And sometimes? Those things really are part of it.
But when we’re really honest — almost every time we slow down enough to look carefully... we find something closer to home.
Something inside.
Not because we’re the problem, exactly.
But because we’re the constant. We’re the one variable present in every situation, every relationship, and every decision.
So we need to look under the hood.
But here’s the truth:
Looking under the hood is uncomfortable. It takes courage. Most people never do it — not because they aren’t capable, but because nobody showed them how, and honestly? It’s a little scary to see what’s actually running the show.
But when you’re willing to do it — when you’re willing to look at your wiring, your programming, your internal operating system that’s quietly driving your thoughts, reactions, and decisions — you don’t just find the source of the problem.
You find the opportunity to level up in a way you never thought possible!
