Let’s face it, not every organization is ready to hire a full-time HR professional for a variety of reasons. That doesn’t mean organizations can’t take advantage of what HR has to offer. We know we are tooting our own horn here, but this recent story by Fast Company illustrates why some organizations should look to fractional HR services or HR consulting services.

Partnering with an HR provider can help startups and small to medium sized companies deliver the individualized experiences employees want without needing a full in-house HR team.
Workforces are more diverse than ever, with employees across different generations and backgrounds. A fractional HR partner can help you create a more individualized and people-focused workplace by providing:

• Personalized development plans – They craft growth paths tailored to each role and employee, ensuring team members have clear, meaningful trajectories aligned with their goals.

• Flexible policy design – Working closely with leadership, they develop adaptable policies that reflect your team's diverse needs—such as flexible schedules, alternative leave options, and hybrid work models.

• Targeted engagement programs – Using employee feedback and demographic insights, they design benefits and initiatives that resonate with your workforce and support what matters most to them.

• Ongoing guidance and support – As experienced HR advisors, they offer continuous coaching, regular check-ins, and agile support to keep employee experiences relevant as needs evolve.

These personalized strategies improve engagement and retention. When employees feel understood and supported, they’re more committed, productive, and aligned with the company’s mission.

If you are a startup or small to medium company owner, CEO, COO, or partner, reach out to EBHR to see how we might help your company with your people goals.

🧠 Many workers experience stress, overwhelm, and anxiety, as highlighted in SHRM's 2024 research. When employees disclose mental health concerns, HR should prioritize supportive listening and inform them about available resources like EAPs, job accommodations, mental health days, and leave options. Employers have legal obligations under laws like FMLA and ADA once they are aware of an employee's mental health needs.

Solutions may range from leave to reasonable accommodations like flexible deadlines or adjusted work environments. HR should also encourage employees to seek professional help and provide clear information about mental health benefits, while proactively checking in with the workforce to support overall well-being and a productive workplace.
