Our coverage area includes Santa Fe and Santa Fe County, Albuquerque, Corrales/Rio Rancho, Edgewood, Tijeras, and the Española Valley. NMSurf, or New Mexico Surf, started as CNSP, Inc. CNSP stands for Computer Network Service Professionals. CNSP began as a dial-up internet service provider, initially offering service to family and friends. CNSP dba NMSurf has evolved throughout the years to keep up with the constantly changing technology of the internet. As the need for speed increased and dial-up became obsolete, CNSP, doing business as NMSurf, resold wholesale DSL internet service to its customers. In 2005, CNSP, doing business as NMSurf, began providing terrestrial fixed wireless services. Fixed wireless was still a relatively new technology, and the FCC had made less radio frequency spectrum available for public use. However, the FCC has made more spectrum available, and since 2010, the technology has improved significantly, becoming competitive with wireline broadband service.In many cases, especially in New Mexico, it even surpasses DSL or Cable internet service. In 2025, Fixed Wireless is now one of the better options for broadband internet service, with the latest equipment capable of supporting Gigabit speeds. Many Internet service providers and network engineers have created hybrid fixed wireless and fiber networks. Optical Fiber is one of the most reliable and fastest ways to connect to the internet. Since wireless equipment now allows Gigabit speeds with low latency, it is almost like broadcasting fiber directly through the airwaves. With the latest technology, we have significantly expanded and upgraded our network, which is also engineered to be redundant, resulting in more online time and fewer outages. We also provide Fiber, also known as FTTP, or Fiber to the Premise, in select areas of Santa Fe.

🏗️ Tower & fiber upgrades: We’ve upgraded most of our tower sites and built redundant 10‑Gig fiber routes connecting Santa Fe to Denver & Phoenix. In 2022 we added a third fiber path into Albuquerque so your service stays online even if one path is cut.

🌐 Gigabit speeds in rural areas: In February 2026 we launched a 1 Gbps symmetrical fixed‑wireless service in Budaghers and nearby communities—bringing gigabit speeds without needing fiber in the ground. We’ve also deployed innovative Taara Lightbridge free‑space optics near La Bajada, adding 20 Gb of bandwidth and paving the way for gigabit connections in places like El Rancho and Pojoaque.

🎓 Investing in our communities: In May 2025 the NM Office of Broadband Access & Expansion awarded us nearly $2.4 million to connect rural students and school staff in Santa Fe Public Schools. The grant is funding new towers, fixed‑wireless equipment and three years of complimentary service for students.

🤝 Serving more New Mexicans: We now offer unlimited broadband in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Española, and surrounding rural areas—including Santa Fe County, the Española Valley, Bernalillo, Algodones and the East Mountains.
