I've been in this game for years. It made me an animal. There's rules to this. I wrote myself a manual. A step-by-step booklet for you to get...your game on track, always on attack.

Rule Numero Uno: Give credit where credit's due. Only do what you would have did unto you. Number Two: Never let 'em know your next move. Projects fall through, and people lose hope, so don't blow smoke and stay away from the meek. Which reminds of Three: Don't do a promise you can't keep. Number Four: Readers will want more of your strengths assume to know what will tank. (Note that Quatro is temporary, so don't worry, and don't ever be in such a hurry.) Number Five: I know you heard this before. Kill your darlings, don't get boring, and you'll score. Number Six: This rule is so pivotal. Watch lots of Netflix, read books, go digital. 7 and 8. These rules are so underrated. Don't live in bubbles from society, kindly, meet people you'd treat equal and move quietly on this earth. Which leads us to 9: you gotta know your own worth. Lastly is Ten: Protect it or forget it. Make the LOC your friend or you won't get credit.

A recent question from a potential client that may spark a blog post later on:
What does a script consultant do?

My response:

It is a layered partnership between consultant and writer. My approach to a script becomes less about structure and more about a fully-formed realization of one's ideas. For example, if a screenplay has scenes that are irrelevant to the story's trajectory, the screenwriter might want to know how the scene could become more actionable.

Also, I sometimes organize screenwriters' ideas into a coherent structure for packaging (loglines, one sheets, pitch decks).

Screenplay enhancements for shorts, features, and television. Tiers: Evaluation, Overview, and Annotated. These services are provided as written reports.

- The Evaluation is a general summary outlining what should be accomplished in forthcoming drafts.

- The Overview is a more substantial, muti-page walkthrough of various approaches, corrections, and missing pieces that can be incorporated into forthcoming drafts.

- The Annotated Tier includes formatting, eliminating, and summarizing exposition and scenes as needed. In this tier, grammatical errors, notes on what's missing, character development, polishing (dialogue and description enhancements), and plot and act structure are also discussed.
