Morvarid Shahbazi
Director of Dance

Morvarid is a National Merit Scholarship finalist, as well as a Maryland State Scholarship winner of the internationally-renowned Juilliard School in both dancing and singing. She is one of only 476 men and women selected throughout the world to attend this prestigious school in New York City. Morvarid has earned two Bachelor's degrees and a minor degree in dance. She has directed, performed, and choreographed for many events, some of the venues include, Strathmore music center, GMU Performing arts center, Wolf Trap Theater, Kennedy Center, Lisner Auditorium and many others. Morvarid founded Best Step Forward with the goal of encouraging music and dance as a second language. Being of Persian descent, the name Morvarid, in English translates to Pearl. Promoted by huge following among dance enthusiasts and students, Pearl's Best Step Forward dance studio is "a chance to dance from within" offering international dance classes from all over the World. Morvarid teaches and performs Persian Dance, classical Middle Eastern dance, Belly Dancing and has a solid background in Salsa, Ballroom, Jazz, Modern Dance and Ballet. Her confidence and versatility shines through her performance and leadership ability.
