Ancient Oak Cellars Family-owned & family-farmed, native-ferment wines. Vineyards in Russian River Valley and Sonoma Mountain. Their first vintage was in 2006.

Ken and Melissa Moholt-Siebert started Ancient Oak Cellars winery with a Pinot Noir vineyard just north of Santa Rosa that had been Ken's grandparents. Today you can taste their wines--Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Zinfandel from Russian River Valley, Cab, Merlot, and Cab Franc from Sonoma Mountain. They source grapes from three estate vineyards, which they farm themselves, and several other amazing

As is my tradition, I am taking the first juice sample of vintage 2026 using a cup I got at TexSom.

What is different is that I'm doing so the day before I would normally go to volunteer setting up and supporting TexSom and then come home and get ready for harvest.

This year I'm missing TexSom and all the friends I've made there -- and making wine NOW!

Yikes - where's my TexSom Harvest Intern?!?

These are all wines that I (Melissa Moholt-Siebert) made, when I took over as winemaker.

We are finishing up picking for sparkling. Some of the grapes from yesterday and today will be for Ancient Oak bubbles and some are sold to another winery.

These grapes will go straight into a press, and then be barreled down for fermentation, so the color that is in the skins will not be included -- making a clear white wine base for the bubbles.
