I've been asking people why they left their jobs. Not the nice answer — the real one.
You know what comes up over and over?
"I stopped feeling like I mattered."
Not a bad boss moment. Not one big thing. Just... nothing. A slow drift into invisibility.
And that's actually the scariest part — because it means you can lose good people without ever knowing you were losing them.
Care doesn't announce itself. But people notice when it's gone.
Have you ever left (or stayed) somewhere because of how it made you feel? I'd love to hear it.
