As communities across our region observe Indigenous Peoples’ Day and Columbus Day, we recognize the many histories, cultures, and experiences that have shaped the places we call home.

May the day offer an opportunity for reflection, learning, and appreciation for the communities and people who continue to contribute to Northern New York.

Congratulations to Hamilton County for being one of the few awarded with a US EPA Recreation Economy for Rural Communities grant! We attended some of the inspiring planning activities designed by the project committee and the Lake Champlain Lake George Regional Planning Board as this project kicks off in Long Lake. Executive Director Victoria is pictured here with partners Grace Conners of the Small Business Administration (SBA) and Hamilton County Board of Supervisors Chair and Supervisor of Long Lake, Clay Arsenault. We can’t wait to see what comes out of this exciting work! ⛰️

Have a plan for your business, but not sure how you'll pay for the next step? That's where financing may come in.

Business financing can be used for more than simply getting a new business off the ground. Depending on the loan and your business needs, financing may help with equipment, inventory, working capital, startup costs, expansion, and more.

At AEDC, we take the time to learn about your business, your goals, and what you're trying to accomplish. From there, our team can help you explore financing options and other resources that may be available to you.

Have an idea or project in mind? Start the conversation with us at adirondackedc.org.

AEDC’s story has been shaped by people who believe in local businesses, and the entrepreneurs willing to take a chance on an idea.

Former Board Members Wayne Thomas and Chandler Ralph have seen firsthand the role that dedicated staff and board leadership have played in helping startups and small businesses find their footing.

Starting a business isn't easy. For 50 years, AEDC has been there to help entrepreneurs navigate the journey and turn their ideas into something real.

Here's to the entrepreneurs, mentors, partners, and advocates who continue to champion small businesses across our communities. 💙

Our team and (many of) our Directors convened this week for strategic discussion and for our quarterly Board meeting at the beautiful mountain-side Garnet Hill Lodge in North River. We couldn’t imagine a more lovely location for these important conversations and meetings. Thank you to Jim Rucker (AEDC Vice Chair and co-owner of Garnet Hill Lodge) and his team for hosting us! 🌄
