If your team is struggling with:

– Miscommunication
– Disengagement
– Lack of trust

You don’t need more tools. 🙅‍♀️ You need a better connection. 🔗

Kristen Theisen works with leaders and teams to transform how they communicate, collaborate, and lead especially in today’s AI-driven workplace. THIS is what differentiates *exceptional* companies and organizations from the mediocre ones.

Have you ever served on a board of directors where there was no communication between board meetings, no follow-up directives, and any meaningful discussions fizzled into a faint memory? Board service should feel good, productive, and inspiring - not simply an addition to your resume.

If you’re on a board, here’s your baseline:

✔ Advocate
✔ Fundraise
✔ Engage

Anything less? You’re limiting impact and filling a seat someone else could use to advance the mission.

Do you have a work bestie? 👥 We were reminded yesterday at the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance session on hiring, retention & training, that people who don’t have at least 1 good friend at work are less likely to stay in their job. 😕

CONNECTION to others is what brings that critical sense of belonging. If you’re a leader in any way, share how you’re helping to create connection among your team members!

Thrilled to see the Executive Director of one of our amazing clients, Samaritan Counseling Services of the Gulf Coast, featured in the Business Observer's "From the Corner Office" podcast! A true servant leader with a big heart.

Leadership lessons can come from unexpected places, including moments of stress, a first car and even a teenage trip to London.

This week on From the Corner Office, Mark Gordon sits down with Rick Howell, executive director of Samaritan Counseling Services, for a conversation about life experience. Rick shares how personal challenges first led him into counseling, how caring for your team is never time wasted and more.

Have you ever been part of a team that was productive but not truly connected? 🙋🏽

On paper, everything works. Deadlines are met. Meetings happen. Goals move forward. But beneath the surface, there’s hesitation, misalignment, or even quiet disengagement.

The difference between a functional team and a high-performing one often comes down to one thing: understanding.💫 When you understand how people think, what drives them, and how they prefer to communicate, collaboration becomes more natural, trust builds faster, and outcomes improve.

Strong teams aren’t accidental, they’re intentional.🙌🏼 Share in the comments: What's one thing your team does really well when it comes to understanding each other - Or one thing it can improve upon? 🤔🤔

This is spot-on in too many situations…someone is good at their job and gets promoted to supervise people, yet they don’t have the tools to motivate, support, and nurture those they are supposed to lead. 😣 We’re proud to provide communications training for teams, helping challenges like this - and many more. 🔴🟡🟢🔵

Most leaders don’t struggle because of strategy or technical skill.

They struggle with people.

And it shows in falling engagement and rising burnout across teams.

The issue isn’t pressure, it’s a lack of early support. Leaders are expected to figure it out as they go, without the skills that actually matter.

Self-awareness, communication and adaptability are what make the difference. They help leaders build trust, navigate change and bring people with them.

The organisations getting it right aren’t waiting. They invest from day one.

Start building better leaders from day one: https://blog.insights.com/en-gb/blog/its-vital-to-start-leadership-training-early-heres-why?utm_source=Organic+socials&utm_id=Leadership+Training

Have you ever been in a situation where people seem to be looking through you, talking over you, or making you feel out of place? Maybe you've always been "one of the cool kids" instead? Either way, a statement I recently heard from Amy Coleman at Microsoft has really resonated with me: "The fastest way to kill possibility is to make someone feel like they don't belong in the room."

Let's be a "force for good" this May 4th and focus on ensuring others feel like they belong - rather than making them feel like outsiders. Fostering a sense of belonging benefits us even more in the end, resulting in increased engagement, collaboration, and productivity. 🚀🎯 I love that part of the work I get to do includes helping teams understand each other and connect more effectively. 😊 If you're a leader that could use a boost for your team, let's talk!
