This is not my story but I had to share.....

SIGN OF A STROKE:
Carla tripped and fell during grilling. I was offered to call an ambulance, but she assured everyone she was OK and only tripped over her new shoes. She was a little pale and wobbly, she was helped to clean up and was brought another plate of food. Carla spent the rest of the evening happy and joyful. Carla's husband later called to say his wife had been taken to the hospital. Carla died at 11pm that night. She had a stroke while grilling. If her friends knew how to interpret the signs of a stroke, Carla might still be alive today. Some people don't die right away. They often stay long in a desperate situation. It only takes 1 minute to read the following... A neurologist said that if he can intervene on a stroke victim within 3 hours, he could reverse the effects. He said the trick would be to recognize a stroke, to diagnose and treat patients within 3 hours, but that's not easy. Recognizing a stroke: there are four stages to recognize a stroke. -
Ask the person to smile (they won't).
-Ask the person to pronounce a simple sentence (for example: "It's very nice today. ").
-Ask the person to raise both arms (she can’t or only partially).
-Asking the person to stick out their tongue (if the tongue is crooked, twist left and right, is also a sign of a stroke. )
If he or she has problems with one of these steps, call an ambulance immediately and describe the person's symptoms over the phone. A cardiologist said that if as many people as possible become aware of this, we can be certain that any life — maybe even our own — can be saved. We send a lot of “garbage” every day through the network, but sometimes you can get stuck with something significant, isn’t it? If it's this important to you... copy so it can reach more people who might change the fate of those affected by stroke...

I want to say something about the spirituality debate. If you don't believe that's ok, but why is it so important for many of you to mock those of us that do? If we're wrong, what have we lost when we die? Nothing! How does our faith in Jesus Christ bring you any harm? You think it makes us stupid? Gullible? Ignorant? That's ok too. How does that affect you? If you're wrong then you have to deal with your consequences.
I would rather live my life believing in God and serving Him, and find out I was right, than not believe in Him and not serve Him, and find out I was wrong.
So, I will not be ashamed or made fun of.
I believe in God, His son Jesus Christ and His gift of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said deny and disown me before MEN and I will deny and disown you before my FATHER who is in HEAVEN.

I grew up in Tampa, Florida (CPV), but never thought I was raised by low income parents during a time when most everyone treated each other with respect. We didn't eat a lot of fast food because it was considered a treat, not a food group. We drank Kool-Aid made from water that came from our kitchen sink with real sugar. We ate lunch meat sandwiches, or even tuna (which was in a can not a pouch), PB&J & grilled cheese sandwiches, hot dogs, homemade hamburgers, but mostly homemade meals consisting of mainly red. Beans and rice ( every Monday), meat, potatoes, vegetable, bread & butter, and homemade dessert.
We grew up during a time when we mowed lawns with a push blade mower, pulled weeds, babysat, helped neighbors with chores just because. We went outside a lot to play games, ride bikes, red rover, dodge ball, run with siblings, and friends & played hide and seek. We drank tap water from the water hose outside... bottled water was non existent. If we had a coke -it was in a glass bottle ... and we didn’t break the bottle when finished …

We watched TV shows like Bonanza, Leave It To Beaver, Gilligan's Island, Happy Days, Bewitched, The Brady Bunch, Little House On The Prairie, and I Love Lucy. After school, we came home, and did homework, and chores before going outside or having friends over. We would ride our bikes for hours. We had to tell our parents where we were going, who we were going with, and what time we'd be back.

You LEARNED from your parents instead of disrespecting them, and treating them as if they knew absolutely nothing. What they said was LAW, and you did not question it, and you had better know it!!!
When the sun was starting to set you had better be home. In school we said the Pledge of Allegiance, we stood for the National Anthem, and listened to our teachers.

We watched what we said around our elders because we knew if we DISRESPECTED any grown-up we would get our behinds whipped, it wasn't called abuse, it was called discipline! We held doors, carried groceries, and gave up our seat for an older person without being asked. You didn't hear curse words on the radio in songs or TV, and if you cursed and got caught you had a bar of soap or hot sauce stuck in your mouth, and had to stand in the corner. “Please, Thank you, yes please no thank you yes ma'am no ma'am yes sir, and no sir were part of our daily vocabulary!
You grew up to respect the others, ourselves, the Nation, and the flag.
Re-post if you're thankful for your childhood, and will never forget where you came from & the time you came from!

Just wanted everyone to know that whoever has been in contact with me in the last 7 days should stay indoors and contact your nearest test centre. I’m so so sorry to everyone of my friends and family and those who have been in close proximity to me. I have had symptoms for a few days now and it has just been confirmed. I have been diagnosed with being immature, awesome, hilarious, and completely off my rocker. I was told there is no cure as of yet for all 4 of these symptoms. When I see this re-posted, I’ll know who has read this to the end. I know a few that won't let me down.
