Welcome to my business page!
Who am I: Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Melanie Joy Alvarez. I am originally from CT, now living in Florida. I dedicated my career to the care and advancement of vulnerable people, while maintaining a high degree of integrity and ethics to be an advocate and a fiercely protective steward of resources. I have 20+ years of experience in the nonprofit sector. I worked in direct service to people for more than half of my career and through various positions saw much turnover, gaps in professional development, and the need for policies that protect humans (both the workforce and service recipients) when they are in crisis.
As a direct service provider, I specialized in outreach for Harm Reduction, Syringe Services, Overdose Prevention and HIV Care programs including CDC Diffused Effectic Behavioral Strategies as well as direct care for people living with HIV, especially Ryan White A & B and HOPWA programming. I also have experience working with homeless & supportive housing programming for adults, families, youth (18-24) and veterans.
For the last ten years of my career I have worked to oversee and develop nonprofit programming through government grants and policy, perform quality management, as well as staff development and training. In my capacity as a Director, I coached many emerging leaders to success and enjoy teaching and watching people thrive in the nonprofit sector.
Serving has been a calling in my life. I strive and work toward creating a better world for all people. Let me know how I can help you! Message me to set up an exploratory meeting!
