The Loving push I Needed: Why I’m Sharing More About Cultivating Your SQUAD
This past weekend at Verve, I got the loving kick in the butt I needed from the wonderful Suzanne Castle, who reminded me of something I had almost forgotten—my superpower is helping women cultivate their SQUAD of Got Your Back GALS. And, honestly, I needed this reminder. It reignited my passion for something I know is vital to every successful woman’s journey, especially coming off the heels of GAL-A-CON and the amazing event that it was!
As I’ve grown in my personal and professional life, I’ve had incredible women confide in me about their struggles:
That gossip has ruined their organizations.
That they feel they’ve outgrown their closest friends.
That those who should be cheering them on just don’t understand or support them.
This kind of loneliness and frustration can be so isolating, especially for She.E.O.s
I know, because I’ve been there too.
But here’s the thing—it doesn’t have to be this way. What I’ve learned is that we can’t expect one person to meet all of our friendship needs; it's not fair to them or us to expect that from them. That’s where building your SQUAD comes in. Not every friend needs to fill every role, and it’s okay to have different types of friends who support you in different ways.
(I wrote a short post about the 5 Types of Friendship Here:

This realization was a game-changer for me. Instead of feeling isolated, I started intentionally building the right kinds of friendships—women who understood my journey, who could cheer me on, offer advice, and also hold me accountable.
I’ve decided to start sharing more about this because I know firsthand how crucial it is for She.E.O.s like us to have these deep, meaningful connections. So, you’ll be seeing more of me talking about how to intentionally Cultivate Your SQUAD and why it’s the key to thriving in both your personal and professional life.
Verve was the perfect reminder that this is my mission—helping women, especially those who are high achievers, create and nurture the SQUAD that will support them as they continue to grow.
Stay tuned, because I’ve got some exciting things to share that will help you do just that.
