This winter at & has been full-spectrum: muddy boots, heavy skies, deep work, and quiet momentum.
December came in cold, wet, and dark. The compost site was soaked, the mud was relentless, our off-grid solar system was constantly playing catch-up, and the wood stove reminded us—loudly—that it was time for a serious upgrade. Winter on the land doesn’t sugar-coat itself.
In between weather windows, we prepped farm goods we’re excited to offer SOON through a new à la carte market, available alongside compost pickup!!
We organized the barn, fixed tractor parts, and handled the daily inconveniences that come with cold weather and real systems doing real work.
At the same time, we’ve been incredibly grateful for collaborations and clients, including , , , and Schuylerville Schools.
We’ve also had the joy of connecting with fellow composters doing important work—, , , and .
We were especially honored to host folks supporting local food sovereignty, like .dreams_, who came to visit and share in the vision.
With so much chaos in the world, we feel deeply grateful to be doing work that is hard, beautiful, and meaningful—work that returns nutrients to the soil and care to our communities.
Thank you for being part of this with us. 💚
